Why this site exists
Most people meet their electrical system once, on the day something goes wrong
or the day a report lands on the kitchen table. By then the language is unfamiliar and the
stakes feel high. FIXMIRO explains what an inspector is actually looking at, before you need it.

across Europe. Fifteen years on site, several thousand installations, from post war houses
to new builds.
What I do here
I write down the things I explain out loud on almost every visit. Why a breaker keeps
tripping, why a grounding connection matters more than it looks, what a report really says
about a house. Everything is checked against the National Electrical Code, with the article
named so you can look it up yourself instead of taking my word for it.
Plain language
Written for owners, not for inspectors. No jargon unless the term is worth learning.
Traceable
Every requirement points to the code article it comes from, and every page carries the
date it was last checked.
Independent
No advertising, no sponsored content, no referral fees, and no work sold to readers.
What you will not find
- A quote. I do not inspect the homes of readers of this site.
- A verdict on your installation. A guide cannot replace someone standing in front of your panel.
- Scare stories. If something is genuinely dangerous I say so plainly, and only then.
- A conflict of interest. My company works in Europe. It does no work in the United States,
so nothing on this site can turn into a job for me.
One thing worth knowing about the code. The NEC is a model code. Every state, and
sometimes every county, decides which edition it adopts, and an existing installation is
normally judged by the rules that applied when it was built. Where that matters, the guides
say so.
How to use the site
Start with the guides if you want to understand your own installation, or with the tools if
you have a number to work out. If you are holding an inspection report and do not know where to
begin, read the guide on the findings that show up on almost every report first.
