What this site knows about you

Almost nothing. FIXMIRO has no accounts, no advertising, no tracking and no analytics. This page explains the little that does happen, in plain words rather than legal language.

The short version. You can read every page and use every calculator without giving me anything. The calculators run inside your own browser, so the numbers you type never leave your device and never reach me. The only way I learn anything about you is if you choose to send me an email.

Who is responsible

FIXMIRO is published by [YOUR NAME OR COMPANY], based in Belgium. You can reach me through the contact page with any question about this policy or about the information held about you.

What is collected

Server logs

Like every website, the server that hosts FIXMIRO records each request. That log contains your IP address, the page you asked for, the time, and the browser you used. It exists so the host can keep the site running and block attacks. I do not use it to build a profile of anyone and I do not link it to a person.

Email you send me

If you write to the address on the contact page, I receive your email address, your name if you give it, and whatever you put in the message. I use it to answer you and for nothing else. I do not add you to any list.

Cookies

The site sets only the technical cookies that WordPress needs to function. There are no advertising cookies and no tracking cookies. The full list is on the cookie policy page.

What is not collected

  • No analytics. There is no Google Analytics or comparable statistics tool on this site.
  • No advertising, no advertising networks and no retargeting.
  • No accounts, so no passwords and no profiles.
  • No calculator data. Everything you type into a tool stays in your browser and is never sent anywhere. Close the tab and it is gone.
  • Nothing is sold, rented or traded. Not now and not later.

Other companies involved

Two parties can see something in the course of a normal visit, and only two.

  • The hosting provider that runs the server and keeps the logs described above.
  • My email provider, if you write to me, since your message passes through and is stored on their servers.

Nothing else is loaded from anywhere else. The typefaces, the stylesheets and the scripts all come from this server, so reading a page here does not quietly announce your visit to a third party. That is a deliberate choice, not an accident.

How long anything is kept

Server logs are kept for a short period by the host, usually a few weeks, and then deleted. Emails are kept as long as they are useful for the conversation and for my own records, and are deleted after that. Nothing else is stored.

Your rights

Because the site is run from Europe and read mainly in the United States, both sets of rules are respected here, and the simplest approach is to give everyone the same rights.

  • Ask what information about you is held.
  • Ask for a copy of it.
  • Ask for it to be corrected.
  • Ask for it to be deleted.
  • Object to it being used at all.

Send that request through the contact page. In practice the answer is usually short, because there is very little to show. Residents of the European Union can also complain to their national data protection authority.

Children

This site is written for adults dealing with the electrical system of a building. It is not aimed at children and no information is knowingly collected from them.

Changes

If the site ever gains a contact form, a newsletter or a statistics tool, this page is updated before that goes live, and the date below changes with it.
